Question Auto connect on startup

Hi Peter,

New user here, signed up today. Very impressed so far as no niggles unlike my previous provider.

One thing I am missing though is an auto-connect ability. Using windows 10 I have the program running at startup via task scheduler. But I still have to click the "On" icon to connect. Is there any way currently to auto-connect?

And one comment, the connection window isn't scaling properly on my laptop with a 4K screen and can't be resized.

Regards Carson

Agreed. Same resize issue on W10 desktop. Not having the ability to auto-connect is a real PITA!
p.s. any news re: VPN locations in other cities (other than Melb/Syd)?

Hi Carson,

Thanks for the suggestion. It is on our to-do list, but we have some other things to get done first. If it helps for the time being, you are able to use any VPN client you wish and still get 100% of our features. OpenVPN for Windows will work fine :)

Hi nannup,

The resize issue is also on our to-do list.

Regarding the VPN locations, we are going to be sticking with Melbourne, Sydney, Seattle, London and Amsterdam for the time being. We do have over 30 regions available for our channels. If there is a service you would like unblocked, please let us know so we can work on it.

Regards,
Peter @ Oeck.

Hi, It's been well over a year now... are you any closer to implementing an autoconnect and minimize feature yet? My memory is not quite the same as it once was; lately I've been finding that I can be online for a few days without realising that I have no VPN! This kinda defeats the purpose of paying for a VPN! Please... help an aging Windoze user out!;)

Hi nannup,

We have taken a different direction recently and soon we will be getting rid of our apps in favour of the official OpenVPN Connect apps. These have most of the functions people would like already built in, and since our VPN "smarts" are done from the back-end, the VPN will continue to function.

You can actually try it yourself now.

You can download it from here. You will also need an .ovpn config file which you can generate and download from here.

Then you can just set Windows to automatically open the OpenVPN Connect app on startup. This should solve your issues.

Regards,
Peter @ OECK.
